Clinical Intern
*I also speak Chinese
Hi! I’m Judy, a counseling student intern from Vanderbilt University. I was born into a Chinese family and have called five countries home (China, Germany, England, Czech Republic, United States), so questions of identity, belonging, and finding connection across different worlds are close to my heart.
These experiences have shaped how I see counseling: above all, it’s a human relationship that makes room for both the emotions we share and the histories that make each of us uniquely who we are.
I care deeply about supporting people as they navigate cultural and personal transitions. I enjoy working with international students, immigrants, multilingual speakers, queer folks, and anyone wrestling with identity, boundaries, or that big question, “Who am I?”
My approach is relational, person-centered, and existential, but what that looks like in the room is pretty simple: I’ll meet you where you are. You don’t need to have the right words, know exactly what you want, or have everything figured out before you walk through the door.
I’ll bring my genuine self into the space, and I hope you’ll feel welcome to bring your full self, too. I see myself as both a learner and an ally, someone who wants to understand your world and walk alongside you as you discover what feels meaningful and true to you.
Outside of sessions, you’ll find me experimenting in the kitchen, making things with my hands, or clinging to a rock wall. I’m always up for swapping recipes, sharing hobbies, and hearing about whatever brings you joy!
